McKeon and Bradley score on interceptions and Daniel Bullocks scores on a fumble recovery to mark the first time in NU history the defense gets 3 TDs in a game! 9/17/05, Lincoln. Ugly but thrilling 7-6 win featuring pro to college coaches Bill Callahan vs. Dave Wannstedt. Adam Ickes blocks Pitts game winning field goal attempt with no time left. Blackshirts pile up another 4 sacks and Sam Koch earns his scholarship by keeping the Panthers offense 1st and looonnnnggg by booming 3 punts over 50 and one 84 yarder. 10/1/05, Lincoln. The longest game in Memorial Stadium history ends in a 27-20 double overtime victory to put NU at 4-0! Zac Taylor fires for a school record 431 passing yards on 36 of 55 attempts. 10/8/05, Lincoln. Heartbreaking but heartening 31-34 loss. Zac Taylor leads NU back from a 21-0 first half deficit to a 31-27 lead with 5 minutes left in the game. The Blackshirts almost have it in the bag with a final minute pick, but the ball is jarred loose back to the Red Raiders. 10/15/05, Waco, TX. 23-14 win. One of the best Baylor teams in recent years battles vailantly but is overcome by a balanced Husker attack. Many Husker freshmen see significant action for the first time. Produced by Husker Video, 100 minutes.

10/22/05, Columbia, MO. Mizzou QB Brad Smith amasses 480 yards total offense and the Tigers hand NU a 24-41 loss. NU struggles early again and trails 21-3 in the 1st quarter before rallying to a 24 point half-time tie. 10/29/05, Lincoln. Huskers spot another opponent a 21 point lead before making a late push, but end up on the short end 24-31.
