The struggling Huskers surprise the football world and shock the Sooners by standing toe to toe for 4 quarters with Mighty OU, snapping their incredible 74 game conference win streak. Coach Bill Jennings inspires his troops to fight to the end, and Ron Meade picks off a last ditch Sooner pass in Nebraska's end zone to preserve the victory. November 19th, 1960, Norman, OK. The struggling Huskers once again put the hurt on the Sooners, this time in Norman! 17-14 victory. NU overcomes a 14-0 halftime deficit with the help of Thunder Thorntons 68 yard TD jaunt and Ron Meades go-ahead field goal with 1:38 left.
